Music Department

The BMHS Music Department is a thriving community of student musicians - most years, between twenty and twenty-five percent of BMHS and CGS students are involved in one of our ensembles! Students in grades 9-12 have the opportunity to receive standards-based musical instruction in Band, Orchestra, Choir, and Music Theory, with CGS and BMHS students working side-by-side in the same groups. Courses are available for students of all ability levels; performers participate in local, regional, and national events. Many music students are ranked academically among the top of their class; the disciplined work ethic, ability to learn from criticism, and long-term planning necessary to succeed in music has helped our students earn acceptances from elite post-secondary institutions, and many have gone on to have careers in music.
