Congratulations to the Brien McMahon High School Marching Band for their promotion to the Open Class of USBands Competition, representing the top marching band ensembles throughout the country for the 2025 season.

“In recognition of the hard word, dedication and commitment to excellence in the area of the pageantry arts, US Bands is privileged to acknowledge the achievements of the Brien McMahon High School Marching Band and their promotion from A Class to Open Class for the 2025 season,” Sean King, executive director of USBands, wrote in his announcement letter to BMHS Band Director Ron Secchi.

Under Secchi’s direction and the program’s instruction team, the BMHS Marching Band was elevated to the Open Class by virtue of its placement and scores at the 2024 USBands competitive events per the thresholds as outlined in the USBands Participation Guide. Additionally, the USBands adjudication community confirmed the ensemble met the criteria for promotion of the program to the next level in nationwide competition.

Brien McMahon now qualifies to compete at the 2025 USBands Open Class National Championships at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ this November.

USBands serves as the national organization for scholastic music performance with over 600 high schools participating and hosting 100 events nationally each year.

This remarkable accomplishment reflects the excellence of the Brien McMahon High School music staff and students, as well as acknowledging the support of the school administration, district, and community.

Congratulations again to the staff and student-performers on a fantastic season!
