BMHS Healthcare Academy Welcomes Norwalk Hospital CEO

On Wednesday, January 22nd, Peter Cordeau, President of Norwalk Hospital, visited Brien McMahon High School and the BMHS Medical Academy to share his inspiring journey. He spoke candidly about overcoming challenges, including his struggles in the UCONN nursing program and failing his boards, before ultimately rising to the role of hospital president.

Cordeau highlighted the non-linear nature of career paths in the medical field, stressing the importance of persistence, learning from setbacks, and taking advantage of opportunities such as volunteering and paid positions to gain experience and grow professionally.

He also expressed his commitment to collaborating with the BMHS Medical Academy to establish a partnership that will provide students with volunteer opportunities and real-world learning experiences in healthcare.
