Numerous scholarships can be found on Naviance. Every BMHS student has a personal Naviance account and they are encouraged to visit the site regularly. Many scholarships have a direct link to websites and other may have a paper application that can be downloaded. In addition, there is a file in the Guidance Career Center with scholarship information as it is shared with us. 

The Brien McMahon Scholarship: Common Scholarship

The BMHS Scholarship Application is now available on your Naviance Family Connection account. Seniors who meet the GPA criteria are eligible to apply. The application deadline is on Naviance and applications will not  be accepted after the deadline for any reason.  To access the application, please follow these instructions:

  1. Log onto your Naviance/Family Connection account
  2. Click on the “About Me” section to access the BMHS Scholarship.
  3. Submit all of your answers!
  4. Pick up a Resume/Signature Page
  5. Collect appropriate signatures (advisors, coaches, employer, etc.) to verify hours/participation listed on the resume/signature page
  6. Return Resume/Signature page (signed by student and parent/guardian) with a copy of your parent’s last  Federal Income Tax Return​ to Guidance

SENIORS WITH A MINUMUM 2.5 GRADE POINT AVERAGE MAY APPLY. The application will be considered complete only with all of the above required information. Please contact Ms. Perez or Mr. Southerland in if you have any questions.

REMEMBER- deadlines are important and 10 days are needed to process the necessary transcript and recommendation information. Requests for information for Scholarships requiring school materials can be made through Naviance Family Connection. 

Some Scholarships to Look Into...


Most scholarship programs have deadlines betweenJanuary and May. If you haven’t started the scholarship process, now is the time to do so! Log into your Family Connection account for additional information on scholarships.

The Brien McMahon High School Alumni Association (BMHSAA) is sponsoring scholarships to several seniors pursuing continued education at a college (including community college), university or an accredited vocational school. 
Applications may be obtained in the Guidance Office.   

Criteria are: 


1) Student must have at least one parent who is a McMahon graduate,

2) Student must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and

 3) Student must complete a type-written essay in response to a question on the application. 


Scholarship awards are presented in June at the annual awards assembly.
